Announcements   

CARLI Updates

  • Jenny reported that the CARLI selection system is now open and will remain open through Friday, May 12th for FY24 subscriptions.
  • CARLI was unable to reach a licensing agreement with ProQuest for streaming videos; libraries with streaming video subscriptions will need to work directly with the vendor to renew.
  • CARLI reached an agreement regarding ProQuest/Alexander Street Press access fees; libraries will find these access fees available for selection in the fiscal year cycle.
  • Elizabeth publicized an upcoming Open Discussion on Building Diverse and Inclusive Collections facilitated by the CARLI Collection Management Committee, which will be held on Thursday, April 27th, from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
  • Denise gave a reminder about the upcoming Alma/Primo VE Office Hours scheduled for Thursday, April 13th, 2:00-3:00 p.m., during which she will focus on advanced troubleshooting of Alma/Primo VE full text linking problems through examining OpenURLs and Context Objects (CTO).

PRODUCT PROPOSALS

NewsBank - the committee decided to not move forward with Newsbank.

Filmocracy - the committee decided to not move forward with Filmocracy.

Annual Project

  • The committee decided to postpone the additional Open Access Talk Series sessions, previously scheduled for this spring, with the intention to reschedule sessions for the next academic year.

Committee Annual Report

  • The committee discussed the contents of the annual report, which is due May 31, 2023. The report will provide a summary of committee activities and product proposals during FY23.

Decisions

  • Minutes from the March meeting were approved with minor revisions.
  • The committee decided to postpone the additional Open Access Talk Series sessions, previously scheduled for this spring, with the intention to reschedule sessions for the next academic year.
