PRODUCT PROPOSALS

Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception Online (DeGruyter):  De Gruyter would like to offer pricing based on FTE for this purchased product. This is a specialized product, which may not appeal to a wide range of CARLI libraries outside of theological institutions.  We will investigate how many subscriptions members already have for this product and if they are receiving a discount from ATLA.

March Conference/Workshop Planning

Workshop Proposal:  Tuesday, March 26th, at the iHotel (main room and two side-rooms booked)

Tentative Time:  Start time at 10:00 a.m. and end by ~3:00 p.m.

Keynotes:  Dennis Krieb (Lewis & Clark Community College) would be happy to give a keynote address (10:00 -10:45 a.m.?).  We may want two keynote speakers during the workshop.  We will wait to decide whether we want to add another keynote; we’ll base this decision on the presentation proposals that we receive.

Breakout Sessions/Panel Discussions:  The committee decided that forty-five minutes is a good length for a breakout session/panel discussion.  This will allow plenty of time for delivery of content as well as discussion.  We will be able to run up to three concurrent breakout sessions at a time if we so choose.  The committee will send out a call for proposals on January 7, 2019; deadline for proposals will be January 28th.  The committee will review and vote on proposals before the CPC meeting on February 14th, and then review and make final selections at the meeting.  Presenters will be notified on February 15th.   At the January CPC meeting the committee will establish parameters for the spreadsheet that we will use to vote on proposals.

Tentative Schedule:

10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Keynote (Dennis Krieb)

10:45 – 11:00 a.m. Break

11:00 – 11:45 a.m. Breakout Session

12:00 – 12:45 p.m. Lunch and demo or speaker?

1:00 – 1:45 p.m. Panel Discussion

1:45 – 2:00 p.m. Break

We will be able to better determine a final schedule once we can evaluate the presentation proposals.
