Discussions

updates

The new CARLI Senior Director, Anne Craig, joined our meeting and mentioned that our biggest issue right now is the budget uncertainty.  She asked us to continue meeting virtually until we have more budget information.  Anne thanked the CPC members for serving and discussed the importance of the committee work for the CARLI member libraries.

Selection system redesign  - Cindy reported that the selection system redesign is almost complete and the goal is to finish by the end of the week. Pixo developers are almost ready to transfer the system to CARLI Systems Services staff.

License agreement update - CY17 new agreements and renewals are in process.

annual project

Discussion of potential ideas continued including a general workshop on how to use Counter stats, a look at ebook ILLs (for example, Occam’s Reader, which is being monetized by Texas A&M. CARLI is currently telling vendors we are not entering into additional ebook licenses because of resource-sharing issues), and a survey of the member libraries to find out what resources/software may be of interest. (Cindy mentioned it may be helpful to send out a list of suggestions since it is often difficult to analyze answers to open-ended questions).

continuing education

We will continue usage statistics webinars.  Gale has been contacted and Cindy will contact Oxford and ACS next.

New Proposals

Mary Ann Liebert E-journals – continue discussion at the next meeting. Review proposal to see if there is interest in specific journals or possibly a smaller package.  Some members mentioned no interest due to budget constraints.
