Discussions

updates

License agreement update:  The absence of a new state budget combined with the expiration of the library materials exemption is impacting license agreements.

Direct offer received from Salem Press ebooks:  Information will be sent to CARLI libraries soon (probably within the next week).

Evaluations from the ebook symposium indicate it was well received.

pending proposals

Impelsys Medical eBook Subscription:  Product is very specialized and would not generate enough interest for CARLI libraries for a consortial agreement.

annual project

The FY 15 annual project was handed in and was included in the packets for the CARLI Board meeting in June.

Ideas for FY 16 were discussed and continued the idea of building a usage statistics resource on the CARLI website.

continuing education

The first Alexander Street Press webinar was presented this week and the second is scheduled for next week.  A reminder for the second session will be sent along with the link for the recording of the first session.

The eBook Symposium produced recommendations for future programming. Suggested future topics included Embedded EResources (streaming & ebooks in course management systems, getting faculty buy-in) and withdrawing e-books (considerations and recommendations). These two potential continuing education sessions may be of interest to CPC for the coming year.
