  • Member Announcements:
    • None
  • CARLI Announcements:
    • The Field Museum and Chicago History Museum will be added to I-Share next month.
    • On July 23, CARLI is hosting an All Committees Meeting via Zoom. Advanced registration is required to attend.
    • CMC new members: 3-year terms: Stephanie Fletcher (School of the Art Institute of Chicago); Leah Lestina (Northern Seminary); Jonna Peterson (Loyola University Chicago); 1-year term: Caelin Ross (University of Chicago).
    • CARLI appreciates the member support for the CARLI Ebook Program. As noted at a previous meeting, members will have access to Oxford and Wiley ebooks. CARLI has finalized the agreement for continued access to the University of Illinois Press ebooks on the JSTOR platform with access to materials published 2014-June 2027.
    • The CARLI Governance Board has approved additional funding for more access to ebooks including Bloomsbury and their imprints on the their own platform and ebooks on the Project MUSE platform.
    • CARLI Governance Board has also approved the perpetual purchase of additional Oxford titles that have not been included in our access collections. CARLI will use turn-away data to make selections for perpetual titles.
    • Reminder to check your IP addresses in the CARLI ConsortiaManager for accuracy. To add or edit your library’s IP addresses, login to ConsortiaManager, go to Profile > View Profile, then scroll down to the IP Addresses box. IPs must be written out in their complete form and should not contain asterisks (*). When saving IPs, do not use the “Save IP Address and Notify Publishers” button, as we have disabled this functionality. To notify vendors of any IP changes, please use their preferred method of contact. For Bloomsbury, CARLI staff will notify. However, you MUST send an email to CARLI Support to let us know that you’ve updated your institutional IPs.
    • CARLI is working on getting CELUS (A COUNTER and non-COUNTER usage statistics reporting software) up and running for the consortia resources. A view-only option (for a fee) will be offered first—to view all of the CARLI subscriptions on the portal (the ebooks and EBSCO package, etc.). Next year (possibly March) CELUS subscription pricing will be available based on the numbers of products an institution has. You can take all your SUSHI feeds and put them into CELUS. There will be training sessions planned. First for CARLI and then later for everybody.

      • Do you have a general collection development policy?
      • When was it last updated?
      • Do you have subject, format-specific, or collection-specific (i.e., rare books) collection development policies?
      • When were they last updated, approximately?
      • Are you willing to share your policy (or policies) publicly?
      • Are your policies already posted publicly online?
      • Are you willing to share a link?
      • If not, would you be willing to send a copy as a Microsoft Word document or Google Doc?
      • Would you be interested in CARLI programming about writing and updating Collection Development policies?
      • Do you have a collection development committee?
      • Who is involved in writing collection development policies at your institution?
  • Committee reviewed the CARLI Collections Management Presentations & Webinars page.
    • The deadline to have the CARLI website accessible is April 2027. The Committee identified the following three content areas as potentially still useful and should be reviewed at its next meeting.

      • Assessing Your Print Subscriptions
      • Weeding Webinar Series
    • Except for the resources mentioned above, all other content on this page can be deleted.
    • Previous CMC Committees have created weeding resource guides in 2021 and 2025.
