• The November 21, 2023 minutes were approved.
• Changed next month meeting to January 22 2024 at 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Announcements

• CARLI Announcements:
  • The CARLI E-Book program for FY25 has collected over the amount needed to fund for the E-books. During the information sessions, CARLI learned that the timing of collecting funds does not work for at least one member’s budget years.
  • CARLI December Newsletter is now live. Newsletter consists of updates on training events and announcements.
  • E-resources- Ithaka contract is underway as is Wiley Contract. Wrapped up calendar year 24.
  • Preservation Committee is working on a webinar about heavy metal in books. The webinar will be on April 30, 2024.
  • Secretary of State/Illinois State Library is working on a grant program for OER for academic libraries. Grant funds will be  should be awarded before the end of this fiscal year.

Discussion

• Since we had a small group, we decided to focus on the weeding subcommittee; we did not break out in groups.
  • Weeding Discussion:
    • Elizabeth shared a list of nation-wide contracts that offered disposal services. Here are the links that were shared:
      • OMNIA
      • Sourcewell
      • NASPO
      • E&I
    • Looking into state contracts for recycling versus nation-wide.
    • Internet Archives is a potential place to donate film resources.
    • New idea is to develop a list of places that works on the disposal of books. We would place that list by creating a page on CARLI’s website.
