  • The August 28, 2023 minutes were approved.

  • Minutes taken by Janice Derr.
  • The committee discussed monthly meeting times. Jen Masciadrelli will send out a survey to help us find a time that works for everyone. She will also share a Box note for members to indicate which subcommittee they are most interested in joining.

Announcements

CARLI Announcements:

  • There will be an online discussion on September 20, 2023 for those who want to learn more about the OEN Certificate in Open Education Program.
  • CARLI purchased 1209 new titles for the EBA program, and member libraries bought 142, bringing the overall collection size to 7628 e-books. All records are now in Alma.
  • A call will go out this fall for the FY25 EBA. If funding permits, the University of Illinois Press will be added to the Wiley and Oxford offerings.
  • A webinar will be held on October 12, 2023 to discuss Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST). It will be recorded.
  • The 2024 calendar year E-Resources Selection System will open the second week of October and run through November 10.
  • The CARLI Annual Meeting is on November 16. Committees won’t give presentations but are welcome to participate in scheduled table talks.

Discussion

  • The committee continued the discussion of possible 2023-2024 subcommittees. Three major topics were chosen.
  • DEI focusing on how to collect diverse collections.
  • Weeding physical collections.
  • Assessing and promoting the use of e-books.
  • The committee discussed the importance of incorporating Alma Analytics into each subcommittee. Jen Masciadrelli suggested a member of the CARLI staff could work with each subcommittee to identify useful Analytics reports.
