Decisions:

• Minutes of the December 11, 2015 meeting were approved prior to the meeting.
• The Board approved the timeline for the 2016 Board of Directors election. Current Board members Tammy Kuhn-Schnell (Lincoln Land Community College), Richard Darga (Chicago State University), and David Stern (St. Xavier University) will serve on the Nominating Committee, with CARLI staff coordinating the process.
• The Board approved the new I-Share Participation agreement, as revised.
• The meeting was adjourned at 1:20 p.m.  

Announcements:

• The search has begun for a Senior Director for CARLI to replace Susan Singleton upon her retirement in July 2016.
• There is no final information available about the state budget or allocations to higher education for FY16 at this time. CARLI is continuing to operate under the 20% permanent budget reduction that we were asked to model for FY 2016. 
• CARLI is proceeding with the implementation process for 3 new I-Share libraries. The libraries are: Black Hawk College, Moline; Meadville-Lombard Theological School, Chicago; and South Suburban College, South Holland. The new libraries are expected to be online in I-Share in summer 2016.
• The Request for Proposal for I-Share Next has been submitted to the University of Illinois Purchasing Division for review. The Task Force will continue to meet as needed to respond to questions from the Purchasing Office and the State Procurement Officer, and to gather additional details that will be included in the RFP. 
• The current contract for ILDS is set to expire on June 30, 2016. The Delivery Request for Proposal (RFP) committee has completed their work. An announcement on the vendor is expected in March 2016.
• CARLI staff are preparing for the FY17 selection subscription cycle. Without a final state budget, many libraries will be unable to make the financial commitment for electronic resource subscriptions for FY17. We expect this uncertainty to result in lower participation for the FY17 cycle.
• CARLI is completing beta testing on the new online e-resources selection. CARLI staff will make a final decision on using the new system for the first time for the FY17 selection cycle in March.
• CARLI is sponsoring an IACRL pre-conference on March 17.  

Tasks Assigned: 

• CARLI will notify Governing Directors about the FY 2017 e-resources selection period, and the need to limit financial commitments to those where adequate institutional funding is assured.
• CARLI will follow up with I-Share libraries regarding the changes and due dates for the newly revised I-Share Participation Agreement.
