Reports Webinar Recordings Posted for February and March

The recordings for the February and March webinars have been posted to the Voyager Reports Mini-Webinar page. Along with the videos, you’ll find SQL for some of the demonstrated queries, as well as the slides for each session.

Staff that search the website for the webinars may also find them linked from the event notices on the calendar as well.

Voyager Reports Mini-Webinar

Beginning in January 2017, CARLI staff will offer a brief, monthly, mini-webinar to share tips, tricks, and techniques on generating reports from Voyager. Each webinar will provide an opportunity for questions and answers on Voyager reporting tools, such as Access and Web Reports, and on topics of broad interest, such as techniques for gathering circulation statistics or developing reports for responding to ACRL and IPEDS surveys. We’ll have information for you, and we hope you will have ideas for us as well.

Applying Server Updates (Oct 30)

This Sunday, October 30th between 6AM and 10AM we will patch and reboot operating systems. Most security updates can be applied without rebooting, but the changes we are making require a server restart. We are also going to take this opportunity to patch the Oracle Database software as well.

Most server outages will be brief since a restart takes less than a minute. However, the larger Voyager and Oracle servers could be down for around a half-hour.

Cataloging Maintenance Priority OC6: OCLC Record Number Formatting

Return to Suggested Priorities main page

OCLC numbers are the foundation of bibliographic matching and de-duplication. Non-Standard formatting of the OCLC number issues may contribute to discards or false overlays in the I-Share union catalog. Fixing formatting issues can have a large effect for a relatively small amount of one time labor.

Features of the Custom CARLI Reports 2016 File

Those who use Microsoft Access to run reports on data in the Voyager system will be familiar with the reports.mdb file. This is the file that you link to your Voyager database, after which it gives you easy access to the data in your database. CARLI maintains a custom version of this file that has many improvements over the default “reports.mdb” file that is automatically downloaded into the C:\Voyager\Reports folder.

Scheduled Downtime Sunday, June 26, 6AM-10AM

On Sunday, June 26, all I-Share/Voyager-related CARLI-supported systems will go offline for maintenance sometime between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM.

The length of downtime is estimated to be 30 minutes.

I-Share/Voyager services include: VuFind local catalogs, the I-Share union catalog, WebVoyage local catalogs, Z39.50, Voyager staff clients, and Voyager MS Access Reporting.  (Voyager Offline Backup Circ may be used during the downtime, if needed.)
