This Elizabeth Harrison-Chicago Kindergarten Movement Collection focuses on the history of the Kindergarten Movement in Chicago, the history of education reform in the 19th and 20th centuries and National Louis University's role in these developments. Key figures include Elizabeth Harrison, Friedrich Froebel, Maria Montessori, Edna Dean Baker, Clara Belle Baker and others. The collection includes photographs, documents, finding aids, newspaper clippings, and more, with new items added all the time.

Margaret Lindman graduated from the National College of Education in 1950. She subsequently joined the faculty of the College and taught speech and drama. Here she is as host of the children’s program “Just Imagine,” which was broadcast on WTTW, Channel 11, in Chicago in the 1960s.
