Greetings to all current and former CARLI committee members!

I’ve really enjoyed talking with CARLI library staff members since I started on July 1. I understand that CARLI is a membership organization that is successful because of you and your deep level of commitment and engagement. One facet of the organization that I would like to know more about is the collaborative work going on through CARLI committees. Because I am new to the job and we’re starting a strategic planning process, I’m interested in hearing about your experience with CARLI committees. To that end, I’m holding a “CARLI Office Hours” open conversation on Monday, Nov. 28, from 10-11 a.m.

Following are some questions that we may use to get the conversation going, provided only as a starting point. Please feel free to bring your own questions/comments/thoughts to the discussion! What’s been the most positive thing about your committee work with CARLI?

What would you recommend to make the committee experience better?

Do you feel the committee annual projects have been beneficial?
Do you feel they have helped with:

• Forming a sense of team/networking?
• Growing professionally or personally?
• Informing the larger CARLI organization?
• Providing valuable information/products?

Would you continue to include the annual projects as a yearly goal  for the committees?
