Decisions

• The next PSWG meeting will be held via teleconference on Thursday, November, 15th at 11:30 a.m. Elizabeth still needs to test AdobeConnect with 2 PSWG members. Until verification that all members can access AdobeConnect, we will proceed with teleconferences.
• Added a review of the proposed, revised PSWG charge to October agenda.
• Promotional opportunities for the Virtual Library Conversations include: CARLI annual meeting on November 9 (if specifics are set); CARLI newsletter; and CARLI email list.
• Andrew read an email draft of PSWG’s collaboration with the Instruction Team. PSWG decided to add a line about keeping our options open regarding a speaker.
• As a group, PSWG decided to remove the line from the proposed, revised PSWG charge that read, “The committee will give special attention to the development of effective programs of user instruction.”
• The meeting was adjourned at 12:56 p.m.

Announcements

• At the close of the ICC Forward Focus conference on Friday, November 2, Sue confirmed PSWG’s Virtual Library Conversations event will be mentioned & handouts shared with attendees (Thank you Sue for the flier design!).

Tasks assigned

• Andrew will add Anne to agenda roster.
• Reminder to approve September 19th meeting minutes prior to November meeting if you haven’t already.
• Sue will make 2 minor word choice changes to the Virtual Library Conversations poster. Also under the ‘Virtual Conversations Topics’ section the terminology ‘Reference Appoints’ will be changed to ‘One-on-One Reference’ to reflect a potentially broader scope.
• Jen will create a website for the Virtual Library Conversations and send URL to PSWG on Monday for review. Concept: 1 static webpage on CARLI’s current website which will disseminate to various URLs for conversation topics.
• Andrew will confirm with those absent about next steps in the webinar/conversation creation.
• Andrew will send the amended email draft regarding the Instruction Team to PSWG members for their approval this afternoon.
• Jen will create a space to host the Successful Library Spaces videos on the CARLI site and determine file size requirements/restrictions and this information will be included when writing the language for the request for successful spaces videos.
• Jen will send email for dates of the next PSWG meetings.
