  • Minutes taken by Nestor Osorio.
  • January minutes were approved with edits.
  • Project and Annual report due May 31. Committee decided to have drafts complete by the end of April.

  • Member Announcements:
    • New member Jessica Bastian was introduced.
    • Dallas Long is the new Dean at ISU Libraries.
    • Governors State University has reopened a search for Dean of the Library.
    • Western Illinois University has initiated a search for Dean of the   University Libraries.
  • CARLI Announcements:
    • CARLI Research Funding Program
    • Professional Development Reimbursement Program
    • Continuing Education Programs. Registration is not yet available for these programs.
      • OER Task Force
        • UIUC has invited Professor Jasmine Roberts from The Ohio State University to present her talk titled, "Beyond Free Textbooks: How OER Addresses Access, Inclusion, and Academic Excellence" from 3:30 – 4:30pm.
        • Program on March 3, 2020; People are welcome to attend; Program will be live streamed.
      • Preservation Committee
        • The committee is planning an Open House at The Newberry Library and the Chicago History Museum on March 27, 2020.
      • Created Content Committee
        • The committee is planning an OpenRefine Workshop at the I-Hotel in Champaign on April 30. OpenRefine is a software tool for data manipulation and possible clean up.
      • On June 28, CARLI will host a 40th Anniversary Celebration and Scholarship Kick-Off at the Art Institute. More information will be forthcoming. This program will be during ALA Annual Conference but as a separate event.
    • Pending contract and UI Legal approval, funded consortial ebooks access will begin July 1.
    • The CARLI sponsored OpenAthens webinar provides an overview of the product and its implementation.

    • Alma & Primo VE
    • Staff are preparing the calendar for the production load; It will soon be shared to CARLI members.
    • The project is still on target for Alma go live on June 24, 2020.
    • CDI now available in all Primo VEs as a possible search slot “Everything” or “Articles”

  • Annual Project
    • In-Person Meeting - The program will be April 2 at Joliet Junior College. Agenda draft is in Box. More specific details of the program are needed. Registration will open March 3rd. Other groups such as Ex Libris staff have been contacted. Elizabeth and Denise will test the JJC set up for “virtually/remotely” participation. Meetings of subgroup TBA.
    • User Guides/Tutorials - This group will meet next week. Not much of a response has been received yet about a presentation at the JJC meeting. In Box, there are several categories that can be included in LibGuides. Examples for Primo VE are hard to find. Only a few of those found are aimed to typical patrons. For April 2, an open discussion, wrap up/talk tables can be scheduled. Elizabeth will send a synopsis of ideas.
    • User Experience/Usability/Customizing Primo VE – This group has met twice. Presentation ideas created: 1. Marketing & Communication/elevator speech, 2. Usability study. Follow up email has been sent today. Hopefully it will get respondents on a panel to present ideas for marketing, promotion, PR, etc. Create elevator speech at April 2 event as an exercise.  Additional idea: As participants arrive, give them index cards to jot down what want in “elevator speech”. Will Meet Feb. 28.
  • Other Business
    • Next steps- done.
  • Goals/tasks for next meeting - Turn in and completion dates “end of committee year.”   Project and Annual report due May 31.  Elizabeth will be out May 22- June 1. Can we aim to have it drafted by May 15? Then discuss it at committee’s monthly meeting May 20. All agree it was doable.
