Announcements

  • CARLI Announcements:
    • No major announcements.  Training and events coming up.  Instruction showcase May 31. In June, there will be more Voyager training.  This week there is Voyager cataloging training. In June, the Preservation Committee is sponsoring a training on recovering from fire and damage in a library.  Very productive round of CARLI events in April and May.

    • Thank you to Sue Franzen, Anne-Marie Eggleston Green, and Cory Stevens for your service! All three will be rotating off the committee.

Decisions

  • Approve minutes from last meeting.
  • The Chair for 2018-2019 will be selected at the next meeting.

Tasks Assigned

  • Minutes taken by Marissa Ellermann.

Discussion

  • Draft of report of the annual activities of committee: – Prepared by Denise, Elizabeth, and Cory.  Thank you!
    • Need description of goals for the past year.
    • Examine changes in services models and spaces.
  • Draft webpage for annual project at https://www.carli.illinois.edu/public-services-models.
    • Still compiling photographs. May create short summaries of each event.  Sue has agreed to write a description of the open houses. They will be finished hopefully by the end of this week.
    • Is using publishers’ abstracts verbatim on the resources list ok? We decided that we think it is fair use.
  • Open Houses feedback reviewed.
    • Overall the feedback was positive.  A few complaints about the food (not vegetarian/vegan), but most people found it useful and felt the time was adequate.
    • One good idea was to utilize a microphone at future events.  Either bring one from the CARLI office or ask that the hosting space provide one.
    • Better than average comments!
