  • Committee Member Announcements - None
  • CARLI Report
    • CARLI office closed middle next week through 2nd January.
    • If you need assistance call Central Services and will page person to respond.
    • Encourage committees to submit proposals to ILA.  Rise Up is the Theme.  Deadline Friday March 24th.
    • Anne Craig wanted feedback about our experiences with CARLI Committees.

  • The Committee reviewed the agenda.
  • Annual Project: Makerspaces List

  • Discussed the pros and cons of the various locations.
    • Chicago Area
      • The Committee decided three locations would be too difficult.
      • Park at one location and take the Metra or El to another.
    • Chicago Suburbs
      • The Committee decided on two locations.
    • Downstate
      • UIS was taken out of the running.
      • The Committee decided on two locations at UIUC.
  • 2017 Open Houses, confirm sites and finalize(ish) dates
    • Chicago - Decided on 2 locations - April 24th or 25 2017.
    • Chicago Suburbs - Decided on 2 locations - April 3, 2017.
    • Downstate - Decided on 1 locations - March 17, 2017.
      • UIUC - Maker Lab (http://makerlab.illinois.edu/) and Fab Lab (http://cucfablab.org/) with lunch at UIUC Library.
      • Need to have arrangements firm so notice can go out by January 10th.
      • Can park at CARLI and carpool to campus.
      • Richard Stokes indicated he might be gone at that time but would make sure arrangements were all in place.  Raeann Dossett indicated she would help with running the day.
  • Tools Project – Email to Presenters  and adding links to Tools Page.

    • Decided on 2 locations - April 24th or 25 2017.
      • Harold Washington Center CPL
      • Illinois Institute of Technology
  • Chicago Suburbs Open House
    • Decided on 2 locations - April 3, 2017.
      • Winnetka-Northfield Public Library
      • Northwestern University
  • Downstate Open House
    • Decided on 1 locations - March 17, 2017.
      • UIUC - Maker Lab and Fab Lab.
  • Tools Project – The Committee approved the email to Presenters.
  • Minutes of the November 17, 2016 meeting were approved prior to the meeting.
  • The meeting was adjourned at 2:35 PM.

Tasks Assigned

  • Confirmed minute taker (Richard Stokes).
  • Cory Stevens to check on options of loading Transit Card to use public transport by group.
  • Cory Stevens to check on lunch space and catering options at the Illinois Inst. of Technology.
  • Julia Venetis to check on arrangements at the Harold Washington Library.
  • Cory Stevens to check on lunch space and catering options at North Western.
  • Susan Franzen to check on lunch space and catering options at Winnetka.
  • Richard Stokes to check on lunch space and catering options and availability of labs at UIUC so announcement can go out by January 10th.
  • Susan Franzen to Send email to presenters after Holiday in January.
