Announcements

  • Committee Member Announcements
    • Tonia has been approved to hire a conservation technician . Fall: expect to be on campus. Just hired a Material Care Assistant who will starting in July. Discontinuing (etest). No longer quarantining materials.
    • Will The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Library is ending Hathitrust emergency services. They are keeping lockers for contactless pick-up.
  • CARLI Announcements
    • The committee member selection happens this week. Enough volunteers to fill the committee. Appointment invitations will go out next week.
    • On Tuesday May 18, CARLI will host a Professional Development Alliance (PDA) event with  Gary Sanders.
    • On May 26, CARLI will host PDA program, The Application of 3D Printer Services.

Discussion

  • Annual Project Review:
    • Rob has reached out to Northwestern.
    • Will reach out to Bonnie Parr at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum after his the first institution he approached declined.
    • To be in the May newsletter, articles are due the 21st.
    • For the June newsletter, Becky will write the project wrap-up for the year. Nicole will let Becky know when it’s due.
  • Annual Report Review:
    • A list of what the committee has done throughout the year. Committee charge, articles, etc. Meghan’s introduction with summary of topics.
    • Meghan and Will will draft annual report and submit it.
  • Webinar and Future Outreach:
    • Slides are available on the CARLI website for the webinar, Incoming Library Collections: A Unified Approach to Newly Acquired Material. The program was not recorded. Survey responses available as well.
  • Checking Preservation Links: No changes
  • Next month: For the agenda, talk about chairs and co-chair for next year.
