Decisions

  • Mary Burns was selected to take minutes.
  • April 19, 2016 and May 16, 2016 minutes were approved.
  • The Committee thought Adobe Connect would be a good space to meet online for the July meeting.
  • Meeting adjourned at approximately 10:40 am.

Discussion Items

  • The Preservation Resources Webliography is complete.
  • The Preservation Committeeannual project webpage, A Year in the Life of Audiovisual/Media Preservation in Illinois is complete. It has been added to the Preservation Resources webliography under the Audio-Visual Preservation blind.
  • Thank you to everyone for your work on the blog and specifically Anne and Patrick for your significant contributions to the project.
  • Miriam’s Care & Handling blog article will go out with the June newsletter.
  • The Annual Report is posted.
  • New members: Bonnie Parr, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum; Jennifer Hunt Johnson, Illinois State University; and Meghan Ryan, National-Louis University will be joining the Committee in July. They will be added to the Committee email list and group page starting July 1st. 
  • New officers: Beth and Anne were elected as co-chairs for the 2016-2017 committee year.
  • Leaving members: Miriam and Mary are rotating off of the committee. Patrick resigned since he will be leaving his position at SIUC. Thank you Mary, Miriam, and Patrick for your service on the Committee! 
  • Fall open house: Greg sent a message that Northwestern staff would like a little time before they commit to an open house since they may have a few big projects on their plate in the fall related to some collection moves.
  • Spring Collections Care workshop: It was decided that it would be better to discuss this workshop after the new committee cycle begins.
  • The committee tested the audio and video features of Adobe Connect as a possible meeting space for the July meeting.

  • There were no further tasks assigned.

Next Meeting Dates

  • Nicole and Elizabeth will send out a Doodle poll to set up the July planning meeting date and time.
