I-Share OPAC Team Meeting: April 11, 2012

Reports

CARLI Report:

• At noon today, CARLI will be changing the pointers so that the new Solr Index and HathiTrust titles will appear in the live Vufind catalog. Please take a look and see if there are any issues.
• Rong helped Paige write Java script so users can select all titles on their My Account renewals. This is still on the development server, but it should go live by the end of the week.
• CARLI has renewed a license key with OCLC development to use the WorldCat “cite this” function as opposed to the current VuFind “cite this.” Rong will help Paige with this.
• CARLI is decommissioning an old server that has contained the Work Request Online service used by Liaisons and other authentication services. Paige has been trying to figure out how to smoothly transition between the servers without losing services.

IUG Report:
IUG has not met since our last IOPAC meeting except to work on their IUG Webinar which will take place this Friday 4/13 at 10:00 am.

Release of HathiTrust Titles and New Solr Index:
Paige asked if there were any questions. Paul asked if there was a rollback plan. Paige said they could roll back the new additions in the blink of an eye if necessary. Edith asked if there had been any feedback on the new additions. Paige replied there had been two emails – one positive for adding HathiTrust and one questioning the need for the Solr Index.

New Business

Election of New Chair: Paul Go was unanimously elected to serve as the IOPAC Team’s chair for 2012-13. He is invited to attend the IUG meeting with Team Chairs on May 18 from 10:00-2:00.

Final Comments: Paige requested that we send comments on the new rollouts this afternoon to the group. The meeting was adjourned at 10:12 A.M.
