CARLI Updates

At Anne's request, the committee will postpone the webinar series until later in the Spring/early Summer. The committee will plan the entire series, and advertise it once all the details have been determined.

CARLI is working on an agreement for consortially-shareable e-books. Pending contract and UI legal approval, funded consortial e-books access will begin July 1.

CARLI members currently licensing SAGE products directly from the vendor can now move to CARLI billing. Institutions with contracts ending before July 1, 2020 can work with SAGE to get a prorated price to cover the end of this year (2020). Can move to CARLI-brokered access starting January 1, 2021. Questions about this can be directed to Jenny. SAGE will appear in the selection tool for this fall’s cycle.

The consortial Statista license has moved to U of I purchasing. CARLI are still working on it and hopeful it will be ready for spring cycle. CARLI staff talked to Swank at ALA Midwinter and is continuing to work on the contract, which might not be done for the Spring selection.

Vendors are currently entering pricing into the spring selection system. More on this within the next few weeks.

PRODUCT PROPOSALS

DSI Data Service & Information GmbH - Potentially of interest depending on relevance of content to member institutions. Interested committee members will review the product with their libraries/institutions and the committee will discuss again at the next meeting.

consortiamanager update

CARLI is exploring use of ConsortiaManager for e-resource usage statistics. It will be able to harvest SUSHI data in one place. CARLI staff are still working on setup and the goal is to make it so members can get stats themselves on demand instead of having to ask CARLI. Can do detailed cost-per-search, cost-per-FTE etc. once pricing data is input. Nicole will send out credentials to everyone to test this module.

Annual project planning

The committee will hold off on further scheduling/planning until CARLI can determine messaging/promotion timeline given ALMA migration.
