PRODUCT PROPOSALS

VPAT Project

All the vendors who can be contacted have been contacted. The committee discussed how best to present the information.  Suggestions included a LibGuide and the CARLI website.

Cindy suggested that we look at other examples of what people have done with this and make a decision next month and that we can include the VPAA.

Mini-Conference

The date will be March 26, 2019.  There will be one large meeting space and two breakout rooms.

Two possible keynotes were discussed - Christine Fruin (American Theological Library Association) on licensing and Dennis Krieb (Lewis & Clark Community College to talk about value assessment.  We may have two keynotes, one in the morning and one after lunch.

Breakout Sessions will follow the keynote

There will be time for demonstrations during the lunch, after some time for socilizing.

Tracks proposed include usage statistics, streaming video

Usage statistics track ideas:

• Best practices in gathering statistics
• What do the terms in usage reports mean? Why are they important?
• The good, the bad, and the ugly of using SUSHI
• Why and how do you gather statistics?

Streaming video track ideas

• Marketing to encourage use
• Streaming video management
• Replacing old formats
• Successful marketing to faculty
• Future of streaming from a scholarly point of view

Tasks Assigned

Xiaotian will create Google Docs for call for proposals for the usage statistics and streaming video track presentations

Cindy will reach out to ExLibris to see if they can present e-resources management and iShare Next.
