Discussions

updates

Selection system redesign update - Cindy reported that work continues and it is believed that most of the development work will be complete by October 1.  After development work is complete testing will continue and will include committee members and vendors.

License agreement update - work continues on the RFP database process. Contracts must be in place by the end of this month.

pending proposals

Digital Loeb Classical Library:  the committee believes that most of the libraries who are interested in this product already have it and that not enough new libraries would be interested since it would probably be considered too specialized for many libraries.  For these reasons they recommend not to pursue a consortial agreement.

annual project

Annual project proposal for FY16 is due to Susan by Monday, November 2.

continuing education

Usage statistics webinars discussion continued.  The committee decided to post vendor-specific questions to the email lists before each webinar to solicit additional usage statistics questions from libraries.  Susie will draft questions for the next webinar (EBSCO) and send to the e-resources contacts and collections lists.

Proposal discussion

To help make sure that the content we are offering is of the greatest value for CARLI libraries, the committee decided to draft a survey. The survey will include questions about resources libraries would like CARLI to offer or investigate further.  Cindy will provide a draft.

To help manage direct offers from vendors the committee decided it would be useful to post these on the CARLI e-resources page.

The committee continued to discuss what is the best approach to take with ebook offers now that the CARLI e-book pilot project has ended.  Since resource sharing is a large part of the CARLI mission we would like to encourage vendors to include this as an option in any proposals to CARLI libraries.
