• Colin was confirmed to take minutes this month.
• The February 26, 2019 meeting minutes were approved

Linked Data Webinar Survey Responses and Follow-up

1. Survey responses still need to be sent to the Committee for review.
2. Committee plans to compile a collection of support resources to provide as follow-up to participants webinar.

Facebook Post Procedures

• Committee reviewed queued test posts and discussed technical aspects of posted images in terms of Facebook’s image carousel and limitations of using photos uploaded to a Facebook photo album.
• Committee favors an approach that supports direct linking into collections:
  • In Facebook, you can post a link and upload an accompanying image.
  • Will need to evaluate process once multiple images and a video example have been posted.
  • Will need to ask submitters for preview image specifications a as well as offering submission guidelines.
• Committee discussed CCC attributions in posts. Pro/con: Attribution credit/source vs. additional text.  
• Andrew J. Theising Collection post to serve as model post.
• When this process is ready to go a Facebook post should be published that introduces this overall initiative.
• Submission form:
  • Google Forms can remain as submission mechanism.
  • Elements to add to submissions:
    • Link to the CARLI Facebook page
    • Add a form field for Contact Name (in addition to Email address)
    • Add remaining CARLI institutions to Institution drop-down;
    • Add a screenshot of an example post that gives users an idea of how content will be rendered.
  • Submission guidelines should be integrated into the submission form.
  • Committee discussed preamble approval wording for collections that are not CARLI CONTENTdm hosted collections.
  • Members should be able to use form to submit collection related events for promotion as well as collections.

  • Next newsletter at the end of April; At the April 23 meeting we will work on an announcement for the newsletter
