NIU: Visitors park in the Visitors Pay Lot West of Founders Memorial Library (be prepared to pay for parking)

12:00pm – 01:00pm Lunch (provided by CARLI) at Kishwakee College
01:00pm – 03:00pm Northern Illinois University, DeKalb-Resource Sharing workflow tour and discussions

Description: KIS and NIU Librarians and staff will provide an overview of how Resource Sharing functions are organized at their respective institutions.  Kishwaukee College is a newer I-Share library, and Northern Illinois University is one of the larger I-Share libraries.

Directions to the Library at Northern Illinois University from Kishwaukee College:

  1. Head east on Lincoln Highway/Rt 38 (from Malta)—about a 5 mile drive.
  2. Once in DeKalb and at the NIU Campus, take a left on Carroll Avenue (where the Pizza Hut is). The Visitor’s Lot is at the end of this street, on the left. It will cost $5.00.
  3. The Library is just across the walk from this lot, but NIU plans (weather permitting) to have someone on the lookout posted by the lot to direct you to the Library’s front door. The door does not face the lot at all, and it is not intuitive. (The Library’s doors are on the north side of the building).
