Registration is now open for this CARLI forum! The forum, hosted by the CARLI Digital Collections Users’ Group and the Preservation Working Group, will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the iHotel in Champaign.  Presentations include:

I-Share Voyager version 7.1 online, 7 a.m. June 16, 2009

The Voyager upgrade has completed and I-Share Voyager is now online on Voyager 7.1 and using current data. The I-Share public access catalogs once again support requesting, renewing and MyAccount functions. Library staff access through the Voyager 7.1 clients is also now available and access via the version 6.5.3 staff clients is no longer supported.

2009 CARLI Board of Directors Election Results

The 2009 CARLI Board of Directors election ended on Friday, May 29. Firfty-six CARLI Governing Member institutions cast ballots for the four available seats. Newly elected members will serve three year terms (July, 2009 – June, 2012). Congratulations to the following successful candidates:

  • Mary Case, University of Illinois at Chicago, representing the Public University sector
  • Cindy Fuller, Millikin University, representing the Private Institution sector
  • Donna Smith, Kankakee Community College, representing the Community College sector

Obama License Plate

Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White and the Illinois Library Association (ILA) are pleased to announce the availability of an official Barack Obama special event Illinois license plate.

The plates are available for purchase at the ILA web site. Proceeds will help support the ILA's activities including iREAD, the summer reading program for Illinois youth. The special event license plates, which read "Illinois Salutes President Barack Obama" are unique commemorative plates that can be displayed until April 17. After this date, the Obama license plate will be available for purchase to anyone nationwide as a collectible.

Copyright Basics & Library Reserves Workshop

Register now for this day-long program, led by Tomas Lipinski, Co-Director and Associate Professor for the Center for Information Policy Research at the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. The day will begin with the basics of copyright and then delve into the topic of copyright and reserve materials.
