CARLI Preservation Tours

The CARLI Preservation Committee invites members to the University of Chicago Library and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) to visit their facilities and learn about their preservation activities.

During the morning, the University of Chicago Library welcomes CARLI members to visit their Preservation Department and its three components, the Binding and Shelf Preparation, Conservation Laboratory, and Digitization Laboratory. Visitors will also tour the Automated Storage and Retrieval System of the Mansueto Library.

After a group lunch, the Center for Research Libraries will give a presentation on "The importance of Data in Print and Digital Preservation: CRL's Role." There will be a tour of the CRL collections and storage facilities.
