05/09/07
The I-Share Users' Group (IUG) Instruction Team is pleased to announce the completion of a revised set of tutorials covering various aspects of using I-Share.
CARLI I-Share libraries have expressed interest in the development of end-user tutorials for I-Share. The I-Share Users' Group (IUG) Instruction Team was charged with this task and is pleased to announce the completion of a revised set of tutorials covering various aspects of using I-Share. The tutorials are based in the I-Share catalog and were created with Camtasia Studio(tm) software.
Topics covered include: searching using the Quick Search and Advanced Search screens; searching by title, author, and by journal title; using My Account; how to print and email records; borrowing through I-Share; and several other tutorials focused on particular types of searches (using partial information, by/about a Person, finding items in collected works).
The IUG OPAC Team has created embedded links from within I-Share so that users can view the tutorials in a particular context in the catalog.
More information for I-Share librarians and staff, links to the finished tutorials, as well as scripts and other information, are available at:
<http://www.carli.illinois.edu/mem-serv/mem-train/movies/opac-libs.html>
End users may access tutorials by following links within the I-Share catalog itself, or online at:
<http://www.carli.illinois.edu/mem-serv/mem-train/movies/opac-mov.html>
The I-Share Instruction Team hopes that you find these tutorials useful for instructing users about the catalog.
Please contact the CARLI Office at support@carli.illinois.edu if you have any questions about these tutorials.
