Roosevelt University seeks an innovative and knowledgeable professional for the position of Reference/Instruction-Scholarly Communication Librarian. The Reference/Instruction-Scholarly Communication Librarian will formulate plans for moving the Roosevelt Libraries forward in meeting the challenges of new and evolving modes of scholarly communication. She/he will participate in the professional discourse, and engage the University community in strategically addressing developments in scholarly communication, including: publishing economics, copyright/fair use, Creative Commons licensing, open access, institutional repositories, and related legislative initiatives.
As a member of the Reference/Instruction staff this position engages students, faculty and staff in collaborative and advisory partnerships providing scholarly research consultations in person, online and across disciplines. In collaboration with the Information Literacy Librarian, the scholarly communication librarian develops and teaches discipline based learning-outcomes oriented instruction. Reference/Instruction librarians also prepare course or subject specific online research guides. All librarians at Roosevelt participate in the assessment of the library's collections across disciplines in print, online and multimedia formats, actively building strong collections and excellence in the curriculum. Masters in Library Science is required.
