2010 CARLI Board of Directors Election Results
The election and appointment process for new CARLI Board of Directors members has been completed. New Board members elected to 3-year terms beginning July 1, 2010 are David Carlson (Southern Illinois University at Carbondale), Karen Schmidt (Illinois Wesleyan University) and Rachelle Stivers (Heartland Community College). Implementing the provisions of the revised Bylaws, Brad Baker (Northeastern Illinois University) and J. Richard Sayre (Monmouth College) have accepted one year appointed seats on the Board, representing public universities and private colleges/universities respectively. Since the community college constituency has four elected members with continuing terms, no appointed seat for that constituency will be filled until 2012.
Beginning July 2010, Connie Bakker (College of Lake County) will assume the Chair of the CARLI Board and Allen Lanham (Eastern Illinois University) will become Vice-Chair.
Outgoing members Scott Drone-Silvers (Lake Land College), Cheryl Elzy (Illinois State University), Kathryn Harris (Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library), Paula Kaufman (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), and Anna Maria Watkin (Parkland College) attended their final Board meeting on June 18th. The Board, staff, and membership appreciate and thank all of them for the more than 24 years of combined service and commitment to CARLI.
