Under the immediate supervision of the Head of Access Services, the part-time Access Services Supervisor provides circulation services to students, faculty, staff and other library users at the John T. Richardson Library on the Lincoln Park campus. The Access Services Supervisor helps supervise weekday, evening and weekend services and student staff per an assigned schedule. The Access Services Supervisor provides supplemental support in related access services, such as course reserves and interlibrary loan, as needed.
Library staff work in a highly supportive, collegial culture that encourages active participation in meaningful and valuable skills training and professional development. This includes training workshops, committee memberships, and engagement in programs that support the Library’s mission and its Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility goals, while building connections and partnerships across DePaul’s wider academic and user community.
Provides direct circulation services to students, faculty, and other library users including providing general directional assistance; borrowing, renewal, and return of library materials and loanable technology; processing local, consortial, and interlibrary loan requests; processing course reserves materials; assistance with use of reproduction equipment (e.g., photocopiers, printers, and scanners); stack maintenance; and assistance with room reservations within the library.
There are currently three part-time supervisor positions, each scheduled 15-25 hours per week during assigned weekday, evening and/or weekend shifts through the academic year. Assigned hours may be subject to change based on staffing and service hours. Reduced hours may occur during summer and intersessions between academic quarters.
