CARLI is Seeking Volunteers to Serve on CARLI Committees

CARLI is seeking volunteers to serve on 10 new advisory committees, with terms beginning on July 1, 2013. At the direction of the Board of Directors, a new advisory committee structure has been created for FY 2014. All current working groups and users' groups will be discharged effective June 30, 2013. Members who are currently serving on CARLI working groups and users' groups and who have one or two years remaining on their terms will be transitioned to new committee assignments.

To volunteer for one of the new CARLI committees, please fill out the volunteer form.

From this year's pool of volunteers, three members will be selected to serve a three-year term (July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016) on each of the 10 new committees listed below. Faculty and staff members from all CARLI member libraries, with all levels of experience, are encouraged to apply.

Forms submitted between March 25, 2013 and 5:00 PM on April 30, 2013 will be considered for initial FY 2014 appointments. However the list of all volunteers will be retained until March 1, 2014 and will be used to fill committee vacancies as they occur.

Participation in CARLI committee work offers library staff members a unique opportunity to influence the future of the consortium and its service program. CARLI is making every effort to conduct the majority of committee business using web conferencing technologies or via conference calls. However, committee service may require time and/or travel expenses for one or more in person meetings each year. Anyone volunteering to serve on a CARLI committee should seek appropriate administrative approval before volunteering. Please review the charge to the new committee.

The Executive Director, in consultation with the Executive Committee of the CARLI Board of Directors will make appointments no later than June 7, 2013. All new committee members will officially begin work on July 1, 2013.
