What is the proposed product or service?

What does it do?

E-book platform for Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor and Francis, Oxford UP, many others, mostly si-tech.

What problem does it solve?

It solves the gap in new innovations in e-book technology since netLibrary had its problems. Plus, it incorporates a lot of content major libraries want.

Is it the only product or service that does this?

I honestly don\'t know what else is out there now.

Will this require integration with an existing CARLI product or service?

We would probably want to intergrate it with the I-share catalog and perhaps WebFeat, but other than that nothing major.

What is the advantage of doing this consortially?

Pricing, the subject sets are very expensive.

Based on a discussion of the full Board and due to the rapid changes in the ebook industry, the PSVC did not choose to act on this particular ebook platform.
