What does it do?

Assists students in citing their resources

What problem does it solve?

Students always have to cite their sources for papers and projects. This eases some of that angst so they can concentrate better on the content of their projects/papers.

Is it the only product or service that does this?

No, there are other products out there such as EasyBib.com and I believe that there is a ProCite product as well.

Will this require integration with an existing CARLI product or service?

Probably some.

What is the advantage of doing this consortially?

Price and ease of connection.

CARLI Actions on this Product

The PSVC recommended that CARLI begin negotiations to offer RefWorks as a brokered product. The Board approved this recommendation in September 2006. We will also survey the current purchasers in Illinois to see what other campus units they may be partnering with to purchase RefWorks.
