I-Share Users’ Advisory Group
Report to the CARLI Board
May 22, 2006
IUAG’s last meetings were held on Thursday, April 6 and Thursday, May 4. IUAG has a meeting scheduled on Friday, June 9, 2006.
IUAG has spent the bulk of its time preparing for the new committees starting on July 1, 2006.
I-Share User Group’s roster and charge:
At the April 6 meeting, IUAG appointed a Nominating Committee for the I-Share User Group (IUG) and its subcommittees. The Nominating Committee developed a roster for the new IUG. IUAG reviewed the roster and endorsed the list of candidates. The Nominating Committee has sent it to the CARLI Board for approval. IUG has also revised its charge and has submitted to the CARLI Board for approval.
I-Share User Group subcommittees’ name changes, rosters, and charges:
At our April 6 meeting, IUAG met with the chairs of the IUAG committees and task forces to discuss their name changes and membership. The chairs unanimously accepted their new names and discussed who would be staying on the new committees and who would be leaving on June 30. The Nominating Committee used this information to develop rosters for each committee.
IUAG gave the committee and task forces until the May 4 meeting to revise their charges. IUAG reviewed the charges at the May meeting and although IUAG was fairly satisfied with the subcommittees’ charges, a couple of IUAG members are revising charges for consistency and standardized language.
IUAG’s Voyager Reports Forum:
The Voyager Reports Forum will be held on Thursday, May 11 at Heartland Community College. This forum focuses on more advanced topics and is not an introduction to reports. Agenda items include a presentation by Xiaotian Chen (Bradley University), a reports server overview, and hopefully some live demonstrations. One of the breakout sessions will give the participants an opportunity to submit reports to an expert for guidance and assistance. All CARLI libraries, not just I-Share libraries, are encouraged to attend. This forum will provide an excellent opportunity for users to share their experiences and learn from each other.
