ILCSO Users’ Advisory Group
Report to the CARLI Board of Directors
September 16, 2005
IUAG met on September 9 and this was the first meeting that Stephanie Atkins presided as chair.
Voyager Media Scheduling Report
IUAG reviewed the recommendations outlined in the Voyager Media Scheduling Implementation Task Force’s report. Although the task force was not unanimous in its endorsement of the Media Scheduling module, one library has successfully implemented the software and is generally satisfied with certain components of the module. The general agreement of the group is to make the module available to member libraries and IUAG agreed with this recommendation. IUAG discussed how to gauge libraries’ interest in implementing the module. It was suggested distributing a tutorial that will illustrate how the module operates and can be used and then asking each library to complete a survey to assess their interest. Depending on the results of the survey, IUAG will work with the CARLI staff on module support.
Forums
Consortial Cataloging and Authority Control Committee (CCAC) and Acquisitions/Serials Task Force (Acq/Ser) are planning forums this fall. End User Instruction Committee will conduct workshops on the use of Camtasia to customize ILLINET ONLINE/I-Share tutorials. IUAG also brainstormed ideas for its forums: Reference/Public Service in February 2006, I-Share Liaison in April 2006 and Voyager Reports in May 2006. We also began forming sub groups to work on topics, speakers, dates and possible venues for each of the IUAG forums.
