CARLI User Group Committee
Report to the CARLI Board of Directors
November 11, 2005
Submitted by Belinda Cheek
The User Group Committee has spent much of the last month preparing for the Membership Meeting on October 28th and soliciting feedback on our work thus far. In addition to the feedback we received at the Membership Meeting, members of the committee are working to get feedback from IUAG, digital product implementation groups, and CARLI staff. We will be meeting again via conference call on November 17th to discuss the suggestions that we have received and ways in which we might want to modify our current proposal to address concerns expressed. At this time, there appears to be fewer questions/concerns about our proposal for Special Interest Groups than our suggestions for User Groups, so we will be working on some revisions to our User Group proposal.
One of the issues raised at the membership meeting was a concern that we do not have a community college representative on our committee. At the meeting, Anne-Marie Eggleston from Kishwaukee College volunteered to join our group, so we will now have this representation. In addition, Anne-Marie increases our representation of CARLI members who do not participate in I-Share. We look forward to Anne-Marie’s input as we continue our work.
