Copyright Basics & Library Reserves Workshop
Register now for this day-long program, led by Tomas Lipinski, Co-Director and Associate Professor for the Center for Information Policy Research at the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. The day will begin with the basics of copyright and then delve into the topic of copyright and reserve materials.

The agenda for the day will cover:
- Origins and Nature
- Exclusive Rights
- Duration
- Liability Issues
- Damages and Risk Management
- Fair Use in the library including Reserves
- Limitations on Exclusive Rights found in other sections of the copyright law, e.g., 108, 109, and 110, Anti-circumvention and anti-trafficking rules of section 1201, and exceptions of relevance to libraries and educational settings Online Service Provider Liability limitation of section 512 (brief overview time permitting)
