The CARLI I-Share User’s Group (IUG) is pleased to invite all I-Share Liaisons to an I-Share Liaisons’ forum, Thursday, May 21, 2009 in Champaign. We hope you will take this opportunity to meet and network with your fellow I-Share Liaisons, IUG members and the CARLI staff.

The Forum will focus on both the short and longer term future of I-Share: the agenda includes a session on the June Voyager upgrade as well as a session that will continue the “future ILS” visioning discussions the CARLI Board held with library directors this winter.

While no timeline has been set for replacing Voyager, the Board and IUG are seeking input on when and what to look for in CARLI’s next ILS. Please come prepared to discuss the following topics about a future ILS for CARLI:

Things you /your library can’t do without that the current system does
Things that annoy you/your library in the current system
Things you/your library feel are missing from the current system (“blue sky” ideas welcome!)
Assuming a timeline is NOT forced by outside circumstances, how will we know when it is time to move to a new system?
What is your library’s tolerance for risk in selecting/developing the next ILS(e.g., open source, a mixture of vendors’ modules)

Additional Information:
Forum is for I-Share Liaisons or their designated substitutes. One attendee per institution, please. This is not a training session, familiarity with I-Share and liaisons’ responsibilities is assumed. Lunch will be provided, contact CARLI by May 13 if you have any special dietary requirements.
