Using Macro Express Software to Assist with Data Maintenance in I-Share Voyager Databases

Intended audience: Cataloging and/or circulation staff with data maintenance responsibilities at I-Share libraries, who have very minimal or no previous experience using Macro Express software. Attendees are expected to have basic familiarity with either the Voyager cataloging or circulation clients.

Note: this is a basic introduction to using Macro Express software in conjunction with Voyager databases, and will include the topics below.  Primary focus will be on downloading and using macros posted to the I-Share Shared Macro web page.  Hands-on exercises will be performed.

  • Macro Express and Voyager client preference settings
  • Setting the macro’s activation key
  • Input and output files
  • Timing issues
  • Voyager client commands
  • Adapting an existing macro for another task

Registration required. Because this is the first offering of this workshop, registration is initially limited to one person per I-Share institution. If space is still available, registration will be opened to more than one person per institution.
