eBook Symposium

This day-long program will provide an overview of the industry from not only a publisher’s point of view but also from the users’ perspective.  During lunch the university press perspective will be addressed from a representative from the University of Illinois Press.  Your colleagues from other CARLI institutions will be presenting information during the afternoon panels on marketing and creative uses of eBooks, as well as technical services and collection development issues.  The day will end with a vendor panel.

Intended audience: Members of the staffs of CARLI member libraries.  Librarians and staff who are using eBooks at their institutions and those that plan to begin purchasing eBooks for their collections.

Registration: Required. Open now until symposium is full to any CARLI library staff on a first come-first served basis. Space is limited to 110 participants. A waitlist will be established. The registration deadline is February 27.

Fees:
This program is free to individuals from CARLI member institutions.

Individuals from non-CARLI institutions are allowed to attend but will have to pay a $50 registration fee. Individuals from non-CARLI institutions will be contacted for an address to be invoiced and registration fees must be paid before the registration deadline.

Refunds will be issued to non-CARLI members only for cancellations received prior to the registration deadline.

All travel costs and any parking/hotel fees are the responsibility of the attendee.
