CARLI Public Services Workshop:
Social Technologies and Academic Libraries: What They Are and How They Could Work for You Registration: Required. Open now until workshop is full to any CARLI library staff on a first come-first served basis. The registration deadline is June 13. CARLI reserves the right to cancel this event if under enrolled. Fees: This workshop free to individuals from a CARLI member library and
$50 for non-CARLI members. Travel costs and any parking fees are the
responsibility of the attendee. Intended audience: The program is designed for library administrators and front-line librarians who have questions about social technologies as well as for interest in applying them at their libraries. Session description: This day-long program will consist of two parts. The morning plenary will provide participants with an overview of social technologies, and answer important questions about their costs, benefits and challenges, and general usefulness. The afternoon program will provide a series of hands-on opportunities to explore and begin using them. Leaders of the program will come from academic libraries throughout the state.
