Targeting Dust Bunnies  Deciding what to weed (other than condition and duplication) can be difficult. This presentation, will show ad hoc ACCESS queries related to targeted collection weeding analysis. Variations of selection and display criteria with reasons for use will be demonstrated. Presented by Donna Smith, Director of IT, Faculty Development, and the Learning Resources Center at Kankakee Community College.
Improving the Annual Statistics Package: A Report of the IUG Statistics Task Force  The I-Share Users Group formed a task force this winter to review the Annual Statistics Package and see if changes could be made to make it easier for libraries to fill out questionnaires from external agencies such as ACRL and NCES. Task Force Chair Todd Spires will discuss additions to the Annual Statistics Package and improvements in the documentation on their use. Todd is the Collection Development Librarian at Bradley University.

A Trio of Topics for Confident Access Query Writers  This session will look at three powerful techniques for querying Voyager with Access: Outer joins let you write queries that give more complete results. The BLOB functions provide a way to get to any field or subfield of a MARC record. Make Table queries and Subqueries make it possible to get at complex data relationships. This is a repeat of a session from the May 2006 CARLI Reports Forum. Presented by Cathy Salika of the CARLI Office.
