I-SHARE UPDATES
***NEW SERVICE FINDS ITEMS ADDED TO THE UNIVERSAL CATALOG***
CARLI is rolling out a new service that easily identifies items newly added to I-Share, the Voyager Universal Catalog, which currently contains the holdings of 65 CARLI libraries. Try it out at: http://i-share.carli.illinois.edu/newbooks/ucnewbooks.cgi. Search for specific title or author keywords, or leave that box blank and see everything new to I-Share libraries in the last 1-30 days. Click on a title you’ve found to view the full record in the I-Share catalog, the item’s location and availability, and where allowed, place requests. Set up RSS feeds of your favorite searches to automatically send an update when new books are added
In coming weeks CARLI will build links to this service into the I-Share Universal Catalog interface at http://i-share.carli.illinois.edu. Soon I-Share libraries will have the option to offer a version of this service that is scoped to their own collection, and that may be accessed from the library’s own Voyager catalog interface or library web page. Details will be announced in January.
***VOYAGER: ANALYZER INSTALLED***
CARLI has acquired and installed the Analyzer module for the Voyager integrated library system on the CARLI servers. Analyzer's web-based reporting and distribution capabilities will be available to all I-Share libraries at no direct cost. CARLI will announce a schedule for Analyzer training for I-Share library staff in early 2007. For more information about the CARLI implementation of Voyager send an email to support@carli.illinois.edu.
SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND IDEAS WITH YOUR ILLINOIS LIBRARY COLLEAGUES
Submit a proposal for the Illinois Library Association 2007 conference October 9-12 in Springfield. Gather your CARLI colleagues together and submit a program proposal for the theme "Changing Libraries, Changing Communities" on topics such as: emerging trends, leadership issues, technology applications, innovative models for public or technical services, or successful collaborations on your campus. Deadline for submissions is January 10, 2007. The Conference Proposal Form is available at: http://www.ila.org/events/proposal.htm.
FALL ELECTRONIC RESOURCES BROKERING PERIOD ENDS

Vendors represented in this period include: ProQuest, Newsbank, KCDL, Johns Hopkins University Press, eHRAF, Duke University Press, Blackwell Publishing, American Mathematical Society, and American Chemical Society.
