If your SFX instance is not linked to CARLI's shared SFX instance, simply proceed to step B.
In SFXAdmin (https://sfx.carli.illinois.edu/sfxadmin/sfx*** , where *** is the three-letter code for your library), complete the form at Export Tool -> Advanced Export Queries:
Select Aleph Sequential.
Check Serials.
If your SFX instance is linked to CARLI's shared SFX instance, then click the Browse button in row 3. Locate the shared_instance_objects_[date].txt file you downloaded from the CARLI web site and unzipped in step A. Click "Open."
If your SFX instance is not linked to CARLI's shared SFX instance, leave row 3 blank.
Check getFullTxt. If you have loaded your print holdings into SFX, also check getHolding.
Select Export from ALL in row 5.
Rows 6-9 may all be left blank. Click "Submit."
Leave your browser window open while the report runs. When it has finished, click "Download" to save the export file to your workstation.
The downloaded export file will be too big to open in Excel, but may be opened in a text editor such as Wordpad or BBEdit. Scroll to the bottom of the file. The last number in the leftmost column is the count of objects in SFX for which there is one or more active object portfolio. In other words, this is the count of titles that are available to you, at any target, via SFX. Titles that are available at more than one target (whether the target is activated in your local instance of SFX or activated for you in the shared instance of SFX) are counted only once.
