World Bank e-Library, World Development Indicators (WDI) Online, Global Development Finance (GDF) Online, Africa Development Indicators (ADI) Online, Global Economic Monitor (GEM Describe the scope & content in detail.The World Bank e-Library is an electronic portal to the World Bank's full-text collection of books, reports, and other documents. It brings together in a fully indexed and cross-searchable database over 5,500 titles published by the World Bank since 2000 and every new title as it becomes available in print. E-Library includes all current and recent World Bank titles, documents, and papers in PDF format. In addition, subscribers have access to information not available in print. E-Library is fully searchable by subject, region, keyword, title, author, abstract, or year of publication. e-Library features: -The collection is searchable by subject, region, author, key words, title, and publication year -All publications on a given Subject and Region are cross-linked - Metadata and MARC records are provided for all books (excl. for policy research working papers) -Information on new titles is available by TOC alerts (by e-mail) and RSS Feeds (through your newsreader) - Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) have been assigned to all e-books in e-Library - Live reference linking is available (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Ingenta Journals, CrossRef, etc., a total of ca 35 different sources) - COUNTER compliant usage statistics is available for all e-Library subscribers World Development Indicators (WDI) Online is the premier data source on the global economy. It contains statistical data for over 800 development indicators and time series data from 1960 for over 200 countries and 18 country groups. Data include social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators. Data selection screens are intuitive and easy to use. Results can be scaled, indexed against a particular year, viewed by percentage change, mapped and charted. Data can also be exported in standard formats like Excel. The database is updated periodically with annual data loaded in May. Global Development Finance (GDF) Online is unique in its depth of coverage of the issues related to international development finance. By putting all development-related flows in a consistent framework, the publication will allow government officials, economists, investors, financial consultants, academics, bankers, and the entire development community to better understand, manage, and promote the key challenges of financing development. Global Development Finance Online offers external debt and financial flow data for over 130 countries that report public and publicly guaranteed debt to the World Bank’s Debtor Reporting System. Time series includes over 200 indicators from 1970. The database covers external debt stocks and flows, major economic aggregates, and key debt ratios as well as average terms of new commitments, currency composition of long-term debt, debt restructuring, and scheduled debt service projections. Data selection screens are intuitive and easy to use. Results can be scaled, indexed against a particular year, viewed by percentage change, mapped and charted. Data can also be exported in standard formats like Excel. The database is updated periodically with annual data loaded in January. Global Economic Monitor (GEM) Online features up-to-date analysis of global economic conditions, including a daily brief and event-driven focus reports. Features Include: Regular monthly briefs, Direct access to high-frequency datasets, Online publication of forecasts for commodity prices and main macroeconomic indicators for over 130 countries. Africa Development Indicators (ADI) Online provides the most comprehensive collection of data on Africa available. It contains data for over 1,000 statistical indicators and time series from 1965 for 53 countries. Data include social, economic, financial, natural resources, infrastructure, governance, partnership, and environmental indicators. Results can be scaled, indexed against a particular year, viewed by percentage change, mapped and charted. Data can also be exported in standard formats like Excel. What is the intended core audience for the product?World Bank Online Resources would primarily be of use to academic institutions with programs in Economics, Business, Finance and International studies, researchers, students studying economics and more specifically development economics. We also have many government agencies, international organizations and corporations subscribing to our products as a point of reference and comparison for economic data. |
