Describe the scope & content in detail.

Oxford Scholarship Online ("OSO") is a cross-searchable online library containing the full text of over 1,900 Oxford scholarly monographs in the areas of: Philosophy, Religion, Economics/Finance, Political Science, Psychology, History, Literature, Business/Management, Linguistics, Classics, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. New titles are loaded into the database 3X/year, most of the scholarly monographs Oxford publishes in those subject areas. OSO’s most important feature is that it enables students and researchers to discover books online via specially drafted book and chapter abstracts – the vast majority written by the original author - along with keywords, which will allow book content to be searched alongside journal articles and other online content. So, an OSO book is not simply an electronic translation of a print work, but rather a significantly enhanced version thereof. OSO abstracts are available for searching within OSO itself and within other sites that host journal abstracts. OSO also provides Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) at book and chapter level, making this an ideal resource for online course packs and reading lists. This means that classic works of scholarship, together with newly-published works, are more accessible than ever before, making Oxford Scholarship Online a unique and invaluable research tool for scholars and students alike. Both perpetual access and subscription pricing options are available for each subject module of OSO. Reviews: http://www.oxfordscholarship.com/oso/public/reviews/reviews.html
