CARLI contracts with commercial database providers to supply electronic resources to members. CARLI subsidizes the cost of selected electronic resources for the benefit of all members. Subsidized resources comprise both content to which CARLI has perpetual rights and databases licensed as annual subscriptions. Resources may be fully subsidized by CARLI, or partially subsidized by CARLI, with the institution assuming the remaining the remaining costs.

EBSCO Academic Search Premier
Academic Search Premier contains indexing for more than 8,200 journals, with full text for nearly 4,500 of those titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for nearly 1,000 titles. Academic Search Premier contains unmatched full text coverage in biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, religion & theology, etc.

EBSCO Business Source Elite
Business Source Elite provides full text coverage of scholarly business, management and economics journals, covering topics such as accounting, banking, finance, international business, marketing, sales, etc. Business Source Elite offers full text for nearly 1,100 business publications and contains expanded PDF backfiles for 150 titles (back to 1985 or the first issue published for that journal). 10,000 substantial company profiles from Datamonitor are also included.

Mary Ann Liebert Science Journals
Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.  publishes authoritative peer-reviewed journals, books, and trade magazines in the most promising areas of biotechnology, biomedical research/life sciences, clinical medicine and surgery, and law.

HarpWeek provides electronic access to Harper’s Weekly, the illustrated 19th century "Journal of Civilization" for a 56-year period: 1857-1912.

NetLibrary

NetLibrary provides access to digital version of books. CARLI acquired approximately 1,900 titles.

Illinois Digital Sanborn Maps
Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970 provides academic and public libraries digital access to large-scale maps of Illinois towns and cities. In electronic form, users have the ability to easily manipulate the maps, magnify and zoom in on specific sections, and layer maps from different years.

SASKIA Archive
(available to CARLI Governing and Associate Members through CARLI Digital Collections)

Saskia comprises one of the largest and most important image archives for teaching art history: encompassing Western—and now Eastern—civilization. Our core art history images include works from over one hundred museums, including the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Uffizi, the Prado, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the National Museums in Athens, Rome and Stockholm, museums in Berlin, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Cleveland Museum and the San Francisco museum.

Alexander Street Press – Women and Social Movements - Scholar’s Edition

Women and Social Movements in the United States brings together primary documents, books, images, scholarly essays, book reviews, Web site reviews, and teaching tools, all documenting the multiplicity of women’s activism in public life. It’s one of the most heavily visited resources for women’s studies on the Web, and it appeals to students and scholars at all levels. The database is edited by the project’s creators, Kathryn Kish Sklar and Thomas Dublin of the State University of New York at Binghamton, together with an editorial board of leading scholars from around the U.S.

CARLI has paid for the annual access fee for this database for 10 years (to mid-2018).

Alexander Street Press – Black Thought & Culture

Black Thought and Culture is a landmark electronic collection of approximately 100,000 pages of non-fiction writings by major American black leaders—teachers, artists, politicians, religious leaders, athletes, war veterans, entertainers, and other figures—covering 250 years of history. Cambridge University Press – Historical Statistics of the United States

Historical Statistics of the United States is the online version of the 5-volume print edition. The millennial edition was released in 2006. It is considered the definitive source of statistics for U.S. history and it is divided into 5 subject areas: population; work & welfare; economic structure & performance; economic sectors; and governance & international relations. Coverage ranges from 1800 to 2000, however some areas go back to 1610 or forward to 2002. The online version allows for the creation of graphs and users can create customized tables.

CARLI has paid the annual access fee in perpetuity for this product.

Sage Deep Backfile

SAGE Publications is offering the SAGE Deep Backfile Package of 303 SAGE Journals for purchase or lease. Deep backfile is defined as the content of a journal from issue 1, volume 1, through the last issue of 1998 (content from January 1999 to the present is included in the current subscription).

CARLI has paid the annual access fee in perpetuity for this product.

Sage – E-Reference Collection PDF Document

This is a collection of 62 reference texts published between 2003 and 2007. The volume count for the collection is 140 e-books. Most are social science with a few STM titles. The Sage interface will permit linking to the Premier and the deep backfiles product previously purchased by CARLI.

CARLI has paid the annual access fees for this product for 5 years (to mid-2013).
