MySearches and SDI/”reminder” services to be interrupted temporarily after Voyager upgrade

The MySearches feature and the Voyager SDI program, which sends automatic emails to users when newly cataloged titles match the users' saved search criteria, will be disabled temporarily after the Voyager upgrade to 7.1.0.

Because of a problem that some previously saved search strategies cause in the upgraded Voyager OPAC, CARLI will temporarily disable the MySearches feature in the version 7 "tomcat" WebVoyage and will temporarily suspend the SDI batch job. Users will be temporarily unable to save new searches in the catalog and users who had saved searches under WebVoyage version 6 will be temporarily unable to display or re-execute those searches. Users will also for a time cease to receive automatic email "reminders" about their saved search strategies.

In the days following the upgrade CARLI will work with Ex Libris to resolve the underlying problem and will then re-enable MySearches and the SDI/"reminder" service for all libraries. We do not anticipate that the interruption to these services will last very long. We intend to act as quickly as prudently possible, in order not to inconvenience users who count on access to their previously saved searches and who value receiving automatic emails about new titles of interest to them.
