The CARLI Office will NOT issue a new CARLI_reports.mdb file with next week's planned upgrade to Voyager 7.1.  This means that libraries should continue to use their existing linked .mdb files after the upgrade has completed.  The .mdb file you are using now should continue to connect to the server and run reports and queries.  There should be no need to "Link to the database" or make any other configuration changes.

IF YOU USE THE UPDATE CHECKER...
Those libraries that use CARLI's Voyager Client Update Checker should find that, after the Update Checker has installed the 7.1 clients, any uniquely named files (i.e., eisreport.mdb) previously in the \Voyager\Access Reports\ directory are still present.  In addition, the Update Checker will have installed the default version 7.1 Reports.mdb file and a file named CARLI_reports_2006.mdb.  The latter is just a fresh copy of the current CARLI_reports.mdb file that is currently available from the CARLI website; it is not a new or updated version, and we have added "2006" to the file name to make this clear.

IF YOU MANUALLY INSTALL THE VOYAGER CLIENTS...
Those libraries that choose to install Voyager 7.1.0 clients manually should be certain to make a back-up copy of all custom files, including their .mdb file, in a safe location outside of the \Voyager\ directory so that the file can be copied back into the \Voyager\Access Report\ folder after 7.1 clients have been installed.

Later this summer, the CARLI Office plans to release a new version of the CARLI_reports.mdb file that will include all of the latest Shared SQLs from our website and other useful features.  Watch the rpt-ig email list for more information in the coming weeks.
