I-Share Instruction Team Meeting
September 2, 2009

Decisions:
- The minutes from July 27, 2009 were approved.
- Dominican University will host the November 6, 2009 tutorial workshop. Chicago State University will host the November 13, 2009 tutorial workshop.
Announcements:
- CARLI Report—given by Lorna Engels
- WebVoyage version 7was downgraded back to version 6.
- If available, WebVoyage version 7 may be reimplemented during the 2009 Christmas break.
- CARLI is meeting with the Voyager vendor, ExLibris to discuss fixing issues with WebVoyage version 7.
- The CARLI board has decided to not open CARLI membership to new members due to problems associated with the Voyager upgrade.
- The new CARLI newsletter was recently distributed.
- IUG Report—given by Lorna Engels (Jason Rossi joined the meeting late.)
- Many of the IUG teams are in the process of holding meetings.
- Cataloging & Electronic Resources Task Force will have their first meeting later this month.
- Digital Collections Users' Group & the I-Share Users’ Group plan to hold a copyright workshop in the Spring, but is awaiting confirmation of funding from the CARLI Program Planning Committee.
Tasks Assigned:
- The Instruction Team discussed the November 2009 planned tutorial workshops.
- A recap of the previous tutorial workshops took place.
- Chris Davidson will be invited to give a presentation on using Wink at both tutorial workshops. Lorna will inquire about Chris’ availability.
- The team decided to shorten the Scriptwriting and Storyboard portion of the tutorial workshop to one hour. The script will focus on “Universal Borrowing.” A basic framework for the script will be provided by the team and attendees will be invited to participate in creating a script. Rebecca will start work on creating the basic framework for the script and post to Google Docs.
- The following is the planned timeline and presenters for the workshops:
- November 6, 2009 Dominican University
- 9:30-10:15 - Best Practices (Aimee and Ken)
- 10:15-10:45 –Tutorial examples (Kathleen and Laura)
- 10:45-11:45 – Scripting and Storyboarding (Terri and possibly Marissa)
- 11:45-12:30 – Lunch
- 12:30-1:30 – Wink presentation - (Chris will be invited; if Chris is unable to give the presentation, Rebecca has offered to do so)
- 1:30-3:00 – Screencasting and optional audio practice
- November 13, 2009 Chicago State University
- 9:30-10:15 - Best Practices (Aimee and Ken)

- Lorna will send an email to those on the wait list a reminder to save the date for the workshops. Registration will be open to those on the wait list on September 14, 2009, and will be open to all on September 17, 2009.
- The workshops will be limited to 15 participants.
- Rebecca and Lorna attended the Handheld Librarian Online conference. Rebecca will share the user name and password information for accessing the PowerPoint presentation.
- The Meeting adjourned at 11:00 am.
