I-Share Instruction Team Meeting

Members present: Molly Beestrum (Columbia Coll.), Amy Glass (Illinois Central Coll.), Joe Hardenbrook (Millikin Univ.), Rebecca Martin (Northern Illinois Univ.), Randi Sutter (Heartland Comm. Decisions:
- Changes were accepted to the November 5 minutes and the minutes were approved.
- The Social Technologies in Instruction Forum will include a panel presentation on LibGuides.
- Team members will brainstorm questions for the LibGuides panel.
- Team members will generate a list of Web 2.0 terms for a glossary to handout at the forum.
- Molly will inquire with Columbia College to see if there would be space and availability for Tutorials Creation Workshop there on June 12 or similar date.

- CARLI Report from Jessica Gibson:
- Reminder of calendar items
- Proposals due for CARLI Collection Grants
- Plans to approve new team charges at CARLI December Board meeting
- IUG Report from Stephanie Graves
- New team charges were approved and submitted to the CARLI Board
- Acq/Ser Team is planning mini-forums in Chicago, IWU, and SIUC and working on materials for Voyager 7 upgrade
- OPAC Team is working on revisions and customization guidelines for Voyager 7
- IUG has added the following text to each teams’ charge: “(team) advising IUG and CARLI staff…”
- March 20 – Copyright workshop in Chicago
- May 21 – Forum for liaisons
- IUG will need all team reports by May 22
- Each team will need to have a chair-elect by May 22
Old Business:
- Using Social Technologies in Instruction Forum Planning
- Plan for a panel session on LibGuides. Invite those who indicated an interest in presenting on LibGuides and possibly ask people from the Tutorials Interest Group to participate.
- Breakout sessions: clickers, wikis, and multimedia in library instruction.
- A glossary of Web 2.0 terms will be drafted along with contact information of librarians with expertise in these areas
- Tutorial Creation Workshop Planning
- EIU has confirmed for June 5; another workshop will be planned for the northern part of the state possibly on June 12. Location possibilities include: Columbia College (Molly will investigate); Wheaton College? (we could ask Terry to investigate); GSU or CSU? (CARLI has held training sessions there in the past)
